| The Royal Chiangmai Golf Resort opened in February 1996. The course was designed by 5 times British Open Champion, Peter Thompson of Thompson Wolveridge and Perrett, covering 2,000 rias of the former fruit orchard. The course is not particularly long, measuring 6969 yards from the pro tees, so you need more accuracy than length. This makes the course challenging for amateurs and professionals. The scenery is surrounded by the breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains in the distance. There are yardage markers at 150 and 100 yards from the green. The greens are of tifdwarf while the fairways, tee boxes and rough are of 419 Bermuda grass. If you would like to stay at the Resort, there is a luxurious 60-room Resort Hotel at very competitive rates. Every window overlooks the valley, lushed green hills or well-landscaped Golf Course. Check out their package deal before going to Chiangmai. All it takes is just 40 minutes drive from the town centre of Chiangmai. A reasonable two-way trip by taxi should cost you between 500 to 600 bahts. |

Travel along the Chiangmai-Prao Road (route 1001) and turn off at around Km 26 (look out for a signboard indicating turn off to golf course). The cost by taxi for two-two way trip should not be more than 500 - 600 bahts. |
